2gather was created during the federal government's hackathon "WirVSVirus" against the Coronavirus in the category //social distancing. In about 48 hours we created the concept and a prototype of a platform on which scheduled discussions, events and courses in the digital space can be organized to facilitate a daily routine and support service providers.
The 2gather project includes an interactive event-room that allows service providers as well as isolated people and families to share services, maintain routines and develop community feelings. Service providers affected by the crisis can create scheduled events, courses and discussions that can be supported by donations. This events take part in interactive video sessions, where the participants can communicate with Quick reactions and the Host has the possibility to react directly to the events.
Through a virtual event room, similar to the Meetup concept, people can get together in different interest groups and participate in events, courses and discussions together with other participants. These are offered on a scheduled basis, meaning you can build up a new routine.
The coronavirus forces society to stay at home. This breaks off contacts with people, service providers can no longer do their work and routines are interrupted. This social isolation must be minimized. Routines must be maintained, this gives people support, service providers/artists should continue to inspire people with their work and be able to offer it, but also be financially supported by the community of participants through donations and small contributions. Even without #face2face.
Against Social Distancing: Here, the focus is on social interaction as well as making and maintaining social contacts in the digital space, which is currently not possible in analog form.
Fast access - Fast access makes it easier for the user to get started with his project. A suitable search or bidding mask can be quickly created via dropdowns and multiple selection.
Event overview - On the event overview the user is presented the upcoming events. The events are presented by starting soon, currently popular, oriented on the user's past events or sorted by category.
Event Page - The event page is where the specific event is presented. A short description and all facts about the number of participants, duration, time and if there are any costs, are displayed. The participant can register for the event here and add it to his calendar.
Event room - In the event room, all participants and the host come together in the form of an interactive video conference. Before the event starts, all participants have the opportunity to talk to each other. After the event begins, the host gains moderator rights.
Quickreactions - Each participant can communicate with the group during the event via Quickreactions. In version 1.0 this is done by sending stickers and emoticons, but can be further developed in the future. Furthermore, help can be requested from the host. After help has been requested, the corresponding participant is highlighted on the host's screen, which can then respond directly to the host.
Donations - Besides the possibility to offer his events for a fee, there is also the possibility to reward the host for his performance after or during an event and to support him with a donation. The amount of the donation can be chosen freely or determined by a price range.
